Privacy Policy

iDeptly is a private, offline ledger. The app does not create accounts, run ads, use analytics, or send your ledger data to an iDeptly server.

Effective date

July 20, 2026

Short version

Your data stays on your device unless you choose to export or share it.

Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how iDeptly handles information when you use the mobile app. iDeptly is designed as an offline record-keeping tool for debts and payments that already exist between you and people you know.

iDeptly does not lend money, extend credit, charge interest, broker financial products, or collect money on your behalf.

Data collection

iDeptly does not collect your personal data. The app has no iDeptly account system, no iDeptly backend, no advertising SDK, and no analytics SDK.

The records you enter in the app are stored locally on your device. They are not transmitted to iDeptly or sold to third parties.

Data stored on your device

To provide the app's core ledger features, iDeptly stores the following data locally:

Data Where it is stored Purpose
Contact names, phone numbers, and notes Encrypted local SQLite database Manage ledger contacts
Debts, payments, corrections, amounts, due dates, and currencies Encrypted local SQLite database Record ledger history and balances
Attachments such as receipt photos or files Local device file storage Keep supporting evidence attached to records
Reminder schedules Encrypted local SQLite database and local notification scheduler Notify you about due or overdue records
PIN hash and database encryption key Platform secure storage, such as Keychain or Keystore Protect the app and encrypt local data at rest
Theme, locale, auto-lock timeout, and install identifier Local app preferences Remember settings and support local-only backup bookkeeping

The local install identifier is not used for advertising, analytics, tracking, or cross-app identification.

Permissions

iDeptly asks for permissions only when they are needed for local app features:

  • Camera: used if you choose to photograph a receipt or document for an attachment.
  • Photos or files: used through the operating system picker when you choose a file. iDeptly does not request broad ongoing access to your storage.
  • Notifications: used to show payment and overdue reminders on your device.
  • Exact alarms and boot completed on Android: used to keep reminders scheduled accurately and restore reminder scheduling after a device restart.
  • Face ID, fingerprint, or device biometrics: used only if you enable biometric unlock as an alternative to your PIN.

Exports and backups

You can export backups, CSV files, PDFs, or shared text from iDeptly. These actions are initiated by you and use your device's operating system sharing, saving, or document-picker features.

After you export or share data outside iDeptly, that copy is controlled by the destination you choose, such as your files app, email app, cloud storage provider, messaging app, or another recipient.

Purchases

If iDeptly offers a paid unlock or in-app purchase, payment is handled by the app store provider, such as Apple App Store or Google Play. iDeptly does not receive your full payment card details.

App store purchases may be subject to the privacy policy and terms of the store provider you use.

Tracking and advertising

iDeptly does not track you across apps or websites. It does not use advertising identifiers, advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking SDKs.

Data deletion

iDeptly has no account to delete because your data is not stored on an iDeptly server.

You can delete your local data by using the app's reset local data option or the forgot PIN wipe flow. Uninstalling the app also removes its local app data from your device, subject to your operating system's backup and restore behavior.

Exports and backups that you created outside the app must be deleted from wherever you saved or shared them.

Children's privacy

iDeptly is not directed to children. Because iDeptly does not collect personal data, it does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when iDeptly changes how it handles data or permissions. The effective date at the top of the page will show when the policy was last updated.
